2012 Decorator Training Courses

All courses are fully hands on and include your materials, refreshments and lunch.
The cost is just £35.00 plus VAT per delegate.

All courses are held from 10am to 4pm in Amscan's custom-designed training suite at Amscan International in Milton Keynes.

All Amscan decoration courses are designed by Chris Horne, a science teacher turned florist also specialising in balloons with numerous awards to his name, including the accolade of becoming the first ever BACI (Balloon Arts Convention Italy) Master Designer in 2002. Chris has taught on six continents, is an international competition judge for the industry and is particularly interested in combining latex, foil and decorative products in innovative ways. He is now Amscan International’s Creative Projects Manager. Courses will be taught by Chris or one of Amscan’s Approved Instructors.

Level 1 Beginners

A complete introduction to the world of professional balloon decorating, including: health and safety, equipment, foil and latex balloons, correct inflation and tying techniques, layered and staggered bouquets, double bubbles, single arches, spiral garlands, pricing and marketing tips.

Level 2 Intermediate

Following on from the Level 1 Beginners course, this introduces more advanced techniques and equipment to build confidence and experience. We cover automatic sizing equipment along with advanced garland techniques, speed decorating tips, multiple balloons-in-balloons, confetti balloons, custom colours and much more. Previous attendance of a Level 1 course is essential.

Wedding Workshop

A very popular combined wedding course covering a selection of fantastic designs and techniques - Sculptured hearts, Fishbone Arches, Tapered Columns, Cloud clusters, balloons for Big Impact and much more! This course requires previous attendance of a level 1 course, and will give you everything you need to tackle the lucrative wedding market.

Designs with Foils

Anagram foil balloons come in a dazzling array of shapes, sizes and colours, but they're rarely used as the major component when decorating. This course aims to demonstrate how the use of foil balloons, in particular the incredible range of decorator curves and crescents, can revolutionise your decorations, and still remain affordable.
